Whats For You Will Not Go by You

Och well - we didn't win at the Creative Scotland Awards - but being nominated as one the top three community projects in the Arts in Scotland last year was a huge honour. Congratulations to the winner - The Zombie Project from Paisley....and also to fellow finallist Elderflowers from Edinburgh.

We (well Tara did) managed to mooch enough tickets for 9 of us from Nothing About Us to attend the awards dinner in the fabulous Kelvingrove Art Gallery - great craic was had by all! Govan certainly made an impression....

The great news for us in the evening was the success of our great pals the Whysman project in the Visual category.....nice one folks - well deserved indeed!

Stalled Places

Yesterday tsBeall led 15 people on a tour of the 'Stalled Places' of Govan - they started at the Pearce Institute and moved on to Govan Old Parish Church (world reknowned Govan Stones) and the Graving Docks. Very interesting and challenging conversations all afternoon - the craic carried on in the Brechins Bar into the evening.

t s Beall is an artist who works with a variety of media to examine how landscape and place are both imaged and imagined.

Recent public artworks experiment with different models of collaboration, and how community action can offer playful counterpoint to gentrification and development. Her moving image work explores how the camera and digital media have shifted our notions of place, and how inaccessible landscapes are imaged by modern technology.

The project 'Nothing about us without us is for us,' is led by t s Beall in collaboration with Matt Baker.
